Econet sent out a message today announcing an impending Bundle price increase scheduled for tomorrow 31 August 2020.
The increase has come almost a month after NetOne increased its prices quite aggressively. We did a comparison of the bundles prices by Econet, NetOne and Telecel as they stand right now, which you can find here.
The message from Econet reads:
Dear Valued Customer.
Please take note, bundle prices for Data will be reviewed effective Monday 31 August 2020.
Dial *143# to buy Data Bundles
Econet Bundles prices were last increased prices in early August but only marginally compared to Telecel and NetOne.
The mobile operator also increased the airtime price for calling and out of bundles browsing. You can see new the prices here.
The increase comes of the back of a relatively stable exchange rate of the US dollar to the Zimbabwean Dollar (ZWL). On the parallel market, the rate has somewhat stabilised at 105.
The official exchange rate, which is determined by the weekly currency auction by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, is at $83.40.
